4 days....

ummey, remember when.....

We went on a road trip from California to BYU-I and sang the whole way there.

Who would have thought that almost exactly a year later... you would be road tripping back home with your Fiance to go to your wedding.

ROAD TRIP

My family and extended family took a trip to Yellowstone National Park. At least that's what we were told 8 months up to the actually vacation. 1 week before it apparently all of a sudden never was Yellowstone and we were always going to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I am actually still not quite sure which one we went to. However, for the sake of my bloggers sanity (even though I was spared none by my mother in confusing me) we shall call it Yellowstone.

I was told by my mother to arrive at the house at 8:30 am. However, I guessed into their trickery and called my little sister the night before (playing dumb) and asked her what time we were planning on leaving. She told me 9:00 am. I KNEW IT! I caught them in their foolery and woke up at 8:00 am, was ready by 9:00 am around my and doddledapartment until I received a text at 9:45 am from Jace saying we were leaving in 10 minutes. One hour later we were finally in the car about to leave.

Apparently, I waken out from my Zombie-like-state (I generally take about 2 hours to completely wake up) because I then realized we were driving a Dodge Ram Quad Cab Larmie.

This confused me quite a bit. For these reasons:

  1. This thing is a beast.
  2. Doesn't this take a lot of gas?
  3. My dad is super cheap. Wouldn't he want to take the least expensive?
  4. AREN'T WE IN A GAS CRISIS HERE, PEOPLE?
I then ask,
"Um... Dad, how many miles to the gallon does this thing get?" My father then replies,
"We're hoping it gets 12-13."
Traveling 5 hours (or 5 hours was what we were told) in this thing...
I'm glad my family is doing our part to help out the economy. Ha.

Jace then starts teaching Demarie "Baseball 101" or the "Birds and the bee's of baseball" as he put it. He told her this would help her get a husband someday. He taught her the greatest pitcher of all time, Si Young, told her about the Si Young award, helped her memorize which teams belonged to which League's etc.

Five hours into the trip we then realized that this trip had been falsely advertised. It was not going to take us 5 hours to get there. But 7 and 1/2. This time, I had fallen for my parents trickery. Dangit! I knew I should have "Googled" it myself before we left.

Anyways, here are some funny clips I took of our road trip of us trying to entertain ourselves. Let me know what you think!

Jace me and Demarie singing "Gangsters" Paradise

Jace and me singing "Bohemian Rhapsody"

Jace making fun of Demarie at Subway because she is "Cranky Franky" and how mom always laughs at Jace's jokes and thinks he is the funniest person ever.

Jace "silent singing" because my dad got annoyed of us being so loud while he was "trying to think"

Terrified

I am terrified out out of my mind to run this half marathon tomorrow. I am going to die. Part of me is re-thinking this whole thing. DO I REALLY WANT TO DO THIS? No, of course not. Who in their right mind wants to run? (Kirsten, I know you do, but you don't count)

It's not a full marathon it's a 5K. I know all of you runners out there think that's no big deal. BUT I DON'T RUN! You don't understand. I don't enjoy it. I force it because I know it is something that I should do.

I am going to do this anyways. I am making myself. Partially because I don't want to... and to spite myself. (Is that even allowed?) Here are the things I am most worried about.

  1. Not finishing
  2. Running by myself because all of my friends passed me up.
  3. Not waking up.
  4. Wearing the right thing.
  5. The beginning when everyone will run past me and I will be left in the dust!
  6. Wanting to quit.
  7. Running out of water.
  8. Getting too hot.
  9. Dying.
  10. Losing all of my hair.
  11. Not waking up.
  12. Quitting.
  13. Fainting.
  14. Dying.
  15. Going to the hospital.
  16. Being in a coma.
  17. The ride in the ambulance.
  18. My friends forgetting that I came with them and leaving me.
  19. Dying.
  20. Forgetting to say my prayers the morning I DIE!
I am terrified out of my mind.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Dear Abby

Dear Abby,

I have a problem. Something is clearly wrong with me and I need help.

About a month ago, I woke up from a joyous sleep excited to start the day when my room-mate, Lenzi, informed me that she loved me. This was not such an unusual even (just kidding) only by the fact that it was then followed by the words, "I love how you always wake up with one sock on."

WHHAAATT?????

"HOW DARE SHE!" I thought to myself. I then looked down at my feetsies and realized that I was only wearing one sock. How embarrassing for me. I then thought back on every time that I took my sheets off to wash and would find about five different un-matching socks at the bottom of my bed. What am I? A one sock freak show?

I ignored it, thinking she was weird for it not happening to her. Then, about a week ago. IT HAPPENED AGAIN! I was so dilerious and disgruntled I took a picture to ask people on my blog if they as well had the same problem. I then, (probably by choice) forgot about the picture hoping my freakshow charactor wouldn't be unmasked for a bit longer.

This morning.... it happened again. And I'll tell you what... IT'S THE SAME FOOT EVERYTIME! What is going on here?!?!

Sincerely,
One Sock Freak

The Little Things

You know those times where for some odd reason (and you never can quite put your finger on it) your body is just sore? Your neck tenses up and life is just SO UNCOMFORTABLE! The pain feels like your carrying an extra load on top of your shoulders and everything tenses up. I HATE THAT!!! Well that's what I was feeling like today. It was horrible. I had to get rid of it. I was getting desperate.

I became so desperate I asked my friend Micah (who I had heard from the girls next door that he had an infamous Micah-ssage that could cure anything) and pleaded with him to help me in my pain.

Well this blog is about the people who (I'm sure in their mind) do something small for you... but in that moment it meant the world! I have a new love and appreciation for my good friend Micah for helping me out in my pain and misery. There is just a love there now that wasn't there before. No, but seriously. Sometimes, it's just the little things that mean a lot.

Here are some other little things that just bring a smile to my face:

  • When my mom dances (and dances off beat)
  • Cheesy movies like:

Anne of Green Gables

Rigeletto

Darby O Gill and the Little People

  • The Spanish Channel
  • Over weight animals (I have a soft spot for them)
  • My blankey
  • Nuns
  • Seeing my little sister perform

  • People watching (and listening in to random conversations)
  • Ordering my groceries online

  • When people just randomly stop by "just to say hi"
  • Crazy homeless people

  • Thank you notes
  • Gentlemen
  • Playing Mafia with my brothers, sisters, mom, dad, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and cousin-in-laws
  • Road trips with your very best friend

  • Crazy fun nights with "Bonzo"
  • When the toilet over flows in your ghetto apartment and you make your room mate pose for a picture and she steps in it.

  • My cousins

  • The smell after it rains
  • Weekly inspirational personal text messages from my Bishop with words of encouragement
  • When people comment on my blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..............It's all about the
.............. LITTLE THINGS!

With love,
Candy Anderson
