Meet Chet

I realize I have a pretty diverse audience of followers that read my blog. As many as you know, I'm Mormon, or LDS. Recently, us Mormons haven't been getting a very good reputation in the press (especially in California) due to the Church's support and donation towards the passing of Proposition 8. (Defining marriage solely between a man and a woman.)

Every year MTV puts in a new cast of strangers picked to live in the same house and film a reality series about them and how they get along. MTV recently cast a Mormon for this season of the "Real World."

Meet Chet.

Don't let his look fool you: Chet is not your typical punk rock party boy. Despite his tight jeans and affinity for neon clothing, this 23-year-old University of Utah frat boy is one of 10 children in a strict Mormon family. Recently single, Chet's flamboyant style and energetic personality always makes him the life of the party. Still, that doesn't mean he'll compromise his firm beliefs: no alcohol and no premarital sex. Chet won't chug beer with his fraternity brothers, but he'll take care of them when they get drunk, and sometimes that means playing a prank or two. A die-hard Republican, he is not one to shy away from voicing his opinions and standing up for what he believes in.

I watched one of the episodes with my best friend and her husband and he seems like a good guy. He's metro sexual and dresses nice and was questioned the first episode if he was gay. (To which he shot down all inquiries.) But I'm excited to watch him this season.

Let me know what you think.
